A plate of ‘Changsin Yukhoe’s yukhoe and gan (liver)
A plate of Yukhoe (Korean raw beef)
A plate of seasoned Yukhoe also appeared. Perhaps due to the cold weather, it was also very fresh. However, the seasoning seemed a bit stronger.
This soup is a must-have at any Yukhoe restaurant. This beef soup is perfect as an alcohol accompaniment, and I loved it when I first visited this place.
With just one more bottle of alcohol, this is a typical Yukhoe set meal at this place. From this point on, I heard a bit about the history of "Changsin Yukhoe" from my significant other.
"Changsin Yukhoe Main Branch" in Jongno 4-ga, Gwangjang Market, Jongno-gu
- Business hours: 09:00 ~ 21:50 (Last order 21:20) / Closed every Tuesday
- Parking is not available.
- Table-style seating / Restrooms are located outside (I think they were gender-separated, but I don't remember).
- One of the representative restaurants forming the Gwangjang Market Yukhoe alley, along with Buchon, Yukhoe Sisters, Brothers, Jinju, etc.
- Even now, it's a place that comes to mind when you think of market Yukhoe in Seoul, but according to my significant other, a long-time Seoul resident, it's not as good as it used to be.
- The biggest reason might be the standardized pricing system; prices for Yukhoe in this area seem to have uniformly increased, almost as if they agreed on it. Honestly, looking at the menu now makes me hesitate a bit.
- Of course, there's no substitute for this kind of atmosphere, and since it's a place with many memories, many people still visit it. I also recently visited a similar place in Jongno 3-ga, but was a little disappointed with its recently changed atmosphere.
- Still, the taste is above average. Because of the high turnover rate, you can always find fresh liver here.
