Skypark Kingstown, recommended as a Dongdaemun hotel, has two branches in Dongdaemun. Hotel Skypark Dongdaemun Branch 1 and Hotel Skypark Kingstown Dongdaemun Branch! The hotel I'm posting about is the latter. It's a 4-star hotel and shares the building with Hyundai City Outlet. Therefore, you can use the underground parking lot, and parking is free with your stay. It's also incredibly close to the subway, which I'll explain in detail below!

Previously, check-in and check-out for this Dongdaemun hotel were on the 14th floor, but it changed to the 1st floor sometime ago. Nowadays, there's a self-check-in machine; you get your key card and a receipt with your room number from the machine. For those like us who checked in late, around 11 PM, it was completely hassle-free and convenient.

To use the elevators, you tap your key card and select your floor. You can go down to the 1st floor without a key card. To go down to the underground parking lot when checking out, you need to use a different elevator than the one you use to access your room. After checking out at the front desk on the 1st floor, there's a small corridor-like passage to the left of the elevator lobby you used to come down. Go through that and to the right; there's an elevator that takes you to the underground parking lot. I saw some people struggling because they didn't know this.

The room in this Dongdaemun hotel was structured with the bathroom to the right as you enter, and the bed beyond a short hallway. I didn't bring a suitcase, so I couldn't gauge the room size, but it was perfectly comfortable for two people. There wasn't a separate table, which made eating a bit difficult… but considering the value for money, it was a fantastic Dongdaemun hotel.

The bathroom was clean, and they provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap. I believe you have to buy toothpaste and toothbrushes on the 1st floor, but we brought our own. We chose a room with a bathtub and brought bath bombs! The lack of amenities at this Dongdaemun hotel was a bit disappointing, but we always carry our own toiletries, so it wasn't inconvenient.

There were two long towels and two short towels under the sink. During our stay, if we pressed the button for room cleaning, they would clean the room thoroughly and reset the towels. Be careful when showering; if you don't close the curtain, the floor will flood!

We arrived late at night at the Dongdaemun hotel, so this is the view I took the next morning. As it's located a block back from the main road, the view isn't particularly impressive. Apart from the distant N Seoul Tower… not much to see. The evening view is also underwhelming! If you plan on spending your evening out, the view won't matter.

We didn't order breakfast, so we went to the basement of the Hyundai Outlet and had a hamburger steak. To get from the hotel to the Hyundai Outlet, go down to the 1st floor and pass the front desk; there's a connecting passage on the right. Going through that leads to an elevator that goes directly to CGV cinema. Following that hallway and through a door, you'll find yourself on the 1st floor of the Hyundai Outlet. If you don't have other plans, spending time at the outlet and catching a movie could be part of your hotel stay, I think! ㅎㅎ

It's located midway between Dongdaemun Station (Line 1 and 4) and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Lines 2, 4, and 5). From Dongdaemun Station, it's a 7-minute walk from Exit 8. A bonus is passing by Cheonggyecheon Stream on the way. From Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station, it's a 5-minute walk from Exit 14. You can walk past DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) and, if it's within their operating hours, it's connected to the Good Morning City shopping mall underground, making it even easier to get around. With various subway lines nearby, it was easy to get around, and having DDP right there made sightseeing easy. Next time I'm visiting Seoul, I'll definitely stay at the Skypark Kingstown Dongdaemun Hotel again!
