Hanbok rental shops near Gyeongbokgung Palace can be broadly categorized into two areas: east and west, relative to the palace.

1) Hanbok Rental Shops on the East Side of Gyeongbokgung Palace

Hanbok rental shops on the east side of Gyeongbokgung Palace are close to the palace parking lot and ticket office.

The parking lot is just across the crosswalk, and the ticket office is right there. This makes it convenient for those driving to Gyeongbokgung Palace. However, it might be a bit further for those arriving by subway.

Cham Hanbok, the shop where Park Na-rae and Code Kunst rented Hanbok in the show "I Live Alone," is located on the east side.

For reference, the current Hanbok rental fees listed on the Cham Hanbok website are as follows: General Hanbok rental for 1 hour and 30 minutes costs 10,000 won.

2) Hanbok Rental Shops on the West Side of Gyeongbokgung Palace

The west side of Gyeongbokgung Palace is located at the entrance to Seochon and right in front of Exit 4 of Gyeongbokgung Station, making it convenient for those arriving by subway.

If you rent a Hanbok from a shop on the west side, you can simply get your ticket at the ticket office and proceed directly to the entrance.

2. Advantages of Wearing Hanbok at Gyeongbokgung Palace

Wearing Hanbok to Gyeongbokgung Palace grants you free admission.

Gyeongbokgung Palace holds night openings in the autumn.

Night openings are from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, with entry allowed until 8:30 PM.

However, night openings are only available to those who have made reservations in advance by the day before.

If you haven't made a reservation, wearing Hanbok allows you free entry without a ticket—a free pass!

Of course, Hanbok can be easily rented from shops near Gyeongbokgung Palace, and even modern Hanbok (saeng-hal hanbok) grants free entry.
