Gyeongbokgung Palace offers free admission to visitors wearing Hanbok (traditional Korean clothing).
Including myself, many foreigners wear Hanbok and walk around. Wearing the traditional clothing of a country you visit seems to become a really nice memory.
After wandering around for a while, I found Yes Hanbok, a Hanbok rental shop near Gyeongbokgung Palace. I think I checked out about three other places before this one.
Fortunately, Yes Hanbok had Hanbok prepared in various sizes, so I could choose one that fit me. This was definitely a good choice to visit without a reservation.
Something I learned while going around is that the price of Hanbok varies depending on the type, and some places charge separately for \"Hanbok + hair + accessories + shoes\".
If you only rent the Hanbok and calculate the costs separately, even prices that seem cheap can end up being expensive.
The attractive reason why we chose this place is the Hanbok rental fee included hair styling, accessories, a bag, and a locker.
For 2 hours
When visiting Korea from Japan, it's better to make a discounted reservation through creatrip. The premium Hanbok cost 35,000 won when paying directly in Korea, but creatrip offers it for 25,000 won.
And there are 4 hairstyles to choose from. The hairstylist's hand movements were very fast, and they quickly added suitable hairpins and accessories. If you want to feel happy every time you walk, choose a pigtail or a wide skirt.
We chose Hanbok that suited each other well, and when we came out, we realized our tastes were very clear... However, we didn't care and were actually excited.
The pigtail skirt was a bit more expensive, but even that was cheaper compared to other places.
We rented it for 2 hours, but when the owner told us to come back, it seemed like they gave us about 30 minutes extra.
It was a day when Gyeongbokgung Palace was open for free, and the weather was miraculously nice. Our expressions brightened, and the expressions of those who came out for a stroll were also bright.
Foreign tourists were also dressed beautifully in Hanbok, and many families, couples, and young children were also beautifully dressed and out for a stroll. We were also excited and walked with a spring in our step.
Actually, I wasn't confident in wearing a bright solid color, so I wore a pastel-colored pigtail skirt.
I liked so many colors that I hesitated for a long time, but when I saw the skirt I chose, it had all the colors I wanted :) The skirt flutters in the breeze every time I walk, and it's beautiful even just to look at it.
The fluttering skirt is so beautiful, isn't it?
The skirt flutters beautifully when a gentle breeze blows.
However, on windy days, the pigtail skirt can flutter very wildly, so you should consider that.
It was a shame that we had to move on to our next schedule and couldn't explore more.
However, it became a precious day for me.
