The nicer the weather, the more people visit Seoul, Korea. I imagine many come for dates or family outings.
So today, I'd like to introduce "Kkulbaek Wangwon", a Korean set-meal restaurant I happened to find while exploring Wangwon-dong.
Kkulbaek Wangwon
It's 320m from exit 2 of Wangsimni Station Line 6. From a distance, it looks like it says "Bulbaek" (불백), but upon closer inspection, it says "Kkulbaek" (꿀백).
Actually, I'd seen the sign in front of the restaurant while passing by before and thought it looked delicious, so I finally decided to visit today.
Lately, I've been craving a hearty Korean set meal for lunch and dinner. ㅎㅎ
You can use the self-service corner for additional side dishes.
Please check the origin of ingredients. Except for tofu, they use domestically produced ingredients (Korean).
We ordered the charcoal-grilled pork bulgogi and kimchi jjigae set meal.
Other options: Steamed rice, fried egg, additional lettuce ₩1,000 / Drinks ₩2,000 / Soju, beer ₩4,000 / Makgeolli ₩3,500 / Chungha ₩5,000
Here comes the charcoal-grilled pork bulgogi and kimchi jjigae we ordered!
Isn't this spread like a meal you'd get at your grandmother's house?! Completely heartwarming >____<
You could see decently sized tofu, nicely cut kimchi, and the meat. It was served in a뚝배기 (ddokbaengi - earthenware pot), so it stayed warm until we finished eating, which was great!
It's the kind of taste I think I'll crave again when the weather gets cold.
The visuals make me hungry even looking at them again...
It's even more delicious with a fried egg~~ Be sure to try it together~
The charcoal-grilled pork bulgogi is made by marinating pork neck in a special sauce and grilling it over charcoal.
The slight smoky char flavor from the charcoal made the meat even more flavorful and delicious.
Personally, I think pork bulgogi goes best with wraps.
Please note that there may be a bit of a wait during lunchtime^^
"Kkulbaek" in Wangwon-dong seems like a great place to visit when you want a hearty lunch.
Many people eat alone here. The food was delicious and the price wasn't too expensive, so if you're looking for a Korean set-meal restaurant in Wangwon-dong while traveling in Korea, I recommend giving it a try.
