Jinju Lantern Festival Schedule

The 2023 Jinju Namgang Lantern Festival, held in Jinju, is a meaningful festival originating from the scene where, after blocking the Japanese army from crossing the river during the Imjin War battle at Jinju Fortress, lanterns were floated to send news to their families. Now, it's a spectacular display of light featuring beautiful lanterns and the main event, fireworks, where many people get their best shots at the Jinju Lantern Festival.

At the Jinju Lantern Festival, where Jinju's mascot, Harmo, welcomes you, you can enjoy not only the wonderful night view but also various events and many photo zones. I took pictures with Harmo and pretended to shoot an arrow at a defeated Japanese soldier from 2 meters away, but I deleted those pictures!

Here's another tip~! Many people ask, "It's free, so why is there a ticket booth?", but it's for access to the best viewing spots for the fireworks and lanterns. This is the floating bridge (bugyo). Using the floating bridge costs 2,000 won for one-way passage and 6,000 won for an all-day pass! People who live in Jinju say that they only need to cross once, but if it's your first time, I recommend the all-day pass if you don't want to remember it as a bridge you can never cross!!
