This is a delicious charcoal-grilled pork restaurant that even Japanese people can enjoy.
Honey Pig (꿀백) Mangwon branch is about a 5-minute walk from exit 2 of Mangwon Station. You'll see the sign.
They are closed every Saturday. Otherwise, they are open from 11:40 AM to 9:00 PM. Enter through the yellow sign; the owner will greet you kindly. The interior was incredibly clean and hygienic, which impressed me immediately.
I visited around 12:00 PM on a weekend, and there was no wait; plenty of seats were available.
Menu
The menu is shown in the picture above. I noticed the prices were 1000 won higher than what was listed online.
I'm looking forward to trying other menu items on my next visit!
I ordered the usual charcoal-grilled bulgogi and after a short wait, they brought out the side dishes first.
The side dishes were so plentiful—쌈채소 (ssamchae-so - wrap vegetables), fried egg, seaweed soup, bean sprouts, etc.—that I was very happy.
If you need more side dishes, you can get them yourself from the self-service area!
The bulgogi arrived immediately!
The portion size wasn't large considering the price, so I ordered an extra serving for 8,000 won. The taste was strong and a bit spicy, but it was just right with rice and side dishes.
The charcoal aroma was there, and the unique Honey Pig seasoning was delicious; I ate it non-stop. I finished both servings in no time.
The food here is delicious, but the abundant side dishes make it an especially satisfying meal.
If you're looking for Korean food for a solo meal near Mangwon Station or want a neat and tidy Korean meal, I highly recommend visiting Honey Pig (꿀백).
I absolutely recommend this place to anyone traveling solo in Korea!
