It's conveniently located not far from Mangwon Station. A yellow sign is visible about 300 meters from Exit 2.
The restaurant's name is Kkulbaek (꿀백), a grilled pork restaurant. At first, I thought it was 'Bulbaek' (불백), but upon closer inspection, it's actually 'Kkulbaek'.
There's a menu board at the entrance, which is convenient for checking the menu before entering.
The waiting area is painted a vibrant blue, a clear sign of a popular local restaurant. They open at 11:30 AM and operate until 9:00 PM. The main menu features 9,000 won Charcoal Grilled Pork Bulgogi, Kimchi Stew, and Charcoal Bulgogi. Adding lettuce costs an additional 1,000 won.
The interior is spacious, and the traditional Korean-style patterns on the walls, which look like they're made of window paper, are quite impressive. The atmosphere is so cozy and heartwarming, even though I'm visiting for the first time. The background is perfect for photos.
There's a self-service area where you can get more kimchi and seaweed, which is great. The sign stating that they absolutely do not reuse side dishes is also a big plus.
The seating is neat and organized, with comfortable attached seats and separate seats near the aisle. They also serve "baekban" (Korean set meal), so you can choose your preferred meal, which is excellent.
After taking photos and chatting for a while, our 9,000 won Charcoal Grilled Pork Bulgogi arrived. The generous portion is amazing!

The seaweed soup and ssamjang (쌈장) sauce are substantial and delicious. The lettuce, which has an extra cost, is generously provided. The inclusion of a fried egg is also a thoughtful touch. It's a truly generous meal.
There's also seaweed and seasoned bean sprouts, and I especially appreciated the white bean sprouts. I personally prefer side dishes with a light, healthy flavor, and these fit the bill perfectly.
Kimchi and pickled radish are always a favorite! The carefully prepared side dishes make me eager to start eating, and then the main dish arrives, leaving me speechless.
It's the meat dish, a meat lover's dream! The large pieces of scallions on top enhance the flavor, and the generous sprinkle of sesame seeds adds a nice touch.
I wrapped the meat in lettuce for a delicious bite, the perfect combination of vegetables and meat. I devoured a whole bowl of rice!
Today's review was of Kkulbaek Mangwon Branch, a home-style restaurant in Mangwon-dong.
Mangwon-dong can be surprisingly expensive, and dining options can be limited. It's fantastic to find such a satisfying restaurant. If you're visiting Mangwon-dong, I highly recommend checking it out. Enjoy a hearty and delicious meal, and we'll see you in the next post! Bye bye~
