How to get to the Seoul Sky Observatory
After getting off the subway, you need to go to the B1 floor. On the B1 floor, you'll find signs clearly indicating the direction to Lotte World Tower. Just follow the signs.
You'll see an entrance with "LOTTE WORLD TOWER" written on it, but don't enter there. Go past it and walk to the observatory entrance on the right.
You'll find the ticket office for the Jamsil Lotte World Tower Observatory. Those with pre-booked tickets can show them here to enter, while others can purchase tickets.
Seoul Sky Admission Fee (Before Discount)
- Adult (13 years and older) 31,000 KRW
- Child (36 months - 12 years) 27,000 KRW
- FAST PASS (All ages) 62,000 KRW
The Seoul Sky admission fee (before discount) is as shown above. Pre-booking tickets through Naver can offer a discount.
Tickets are issued immediately at the ticket office, and you'll receive a mobile ticket.
As I'm staying in Korea, I purchased my ticket through Naver, but for those coming from Japan, pre-booking and receiving a mobile ticket in Japan is cheaper.
Lotte World Tower Observatory Floor Highlights
- B1 floor: Observatory Lobby
- B2 floor: Exhibition floor, Shuttle boarding area
After showing your ticket and entering, you'll pass a long line and take a photo. All photos taken from here will be saved on this photo ticket, and you can purchase them as a frame or photo album at the photo output station in the observatory.
Following the crowd, you'll reach the B2 floor shuttle boarding area.
The elevator going up is called a shuttle. Interesting!
Actually, the shuttle is on the B1 floor. You can find it by taking the escalator on the B2 floor and following the crowd.
117th floor: Entrance floor, Sky Show
Normally, you start from the 117th floor, but for some reason, our shuttle stopped at the 118th floor. Since nobody pressed the button thinking it would stop at 117, we had to use the stairs to go down.
Here, you can watch a video depicting the history of Seoul using ink art and digital art.
118th floor: Entrance floor, Observatory Deck
This is the 118th floor deck, offering the best views. Seoul looks like a miniature village from up here. There's a Sky Lounge here with sofas where you can listen to music (Galaxy Buds?), but it seems to be paid. A staff member told us we needed to register inside, so we just passed by.
There's a transparent deck here with a clear view of the ground below, where many people gather to take photos.
119th floor: Dessert cafe, Caricatures
The 119th floor has a caricature artist and dessert cafes, where you can enjoy desserts and the view.
120th floor: Exit floor, Outdoor terrace, Photo retrieval
The 120th floor is the exit floor with a shuttle for going down. Unlike other floors, it also has an outdoor terrace. It wasn't as impressive as it sounds, but you could take pictures on this almost fully enclosed terrace.
This is probably for safety reasons! There's also a photo retrieval area where you can scan your photo ticket, select the photos you want to print, and have them put in a frame, album, etc.
You can't just print photos; they're put into these designated frames. The advantage is that you get the frame in just 10 seconds!
121st floor: Gift shop, Exit floor
The 121st floor has a gift shop with various Lotte Tower Observatory souvenirs, from magnets to eco bags, making it a great place to browse.
The 122nd and 123rd floors have a cafe and a premium lounge, but we only went up to the 121st floor.
I hope today's post was helpful! Have a good night!!
