After taking care of some business near City Hall Station, I started looking for a place to grab a quick bite, and I spotted a restaurant that immediately caught my eye. It was "Ssada Kimbap" City Hall Station branch.

Getting There

It's closest to exit 7 of City Hall Station.

"Ssada Kimbap" is located right between Sungnyemun Gate and exit 7.

Exterior view of Ssada Kimbap.

The interior is well-designed; it doesn't feel like just a kimbap shop, but something more.

Ssada Kimbap's signature style.

The way they wrap kimbap with one hand is very charming.

Even though it was close to 8 PM, the place was bustling with people. It's notable that there were many foreign customers like myself.

The menu is simple and clean. It was nice that ordering was convenient via a kiosk.

The menu items I ordered were:

  • Ssada Kimbap ₩3,500
  • Rabokki ₩6,000
  • Donkatsu ₩8,500

Kimbap + Rabokki + Donkatsu is the ultimate combination, wouldn't you say?

First up, the Rabokki (₩6,000) and Ssada Kimbap (₩3,500).

Even the kimbap container is extraordinary.

The kimbap filling is truly amazing.

It's packed with vegetables.

The essence of kimbap lies in having less rice and plenty of fillings.

This kimbap perfectly embodies that essence.

Let's try the rabokki.

The vibrant red color of the tteokbokki is well-represented.

Just looking at it makes my mouth water...The tteok is a long noodle-style tteok.

Two thick slices of donkatsu for under ₩9,000! That's great value.

The sweet and savory sauce adds even more flavor. The power of "bu-meok" (pouring sauce directly over the dish).

Dipping the donkatsu in the rabokki sauce is also a delightful treat.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner, scraping the rabokki sauce clean from the bowl.

Overall Impression

"Ssada Kimbap", a kimbap specialist that follows in the footsteps of Kimbap Cheonguk. It seems inevitable that Ssada Kimbap will dominate the nationwide kimbap market. I have to admit it.

Even just one serving of the basic Ssada Kimbap (₩3,500) is worth trying. It's a stroke of luck to be able to eat such a lovingly made kimbap for under ₩4,000.
