✅ Opening Ceremony

• Contents : Gwanghwamun area (Seoul Light Gwanghwamun, Gwanghwamun Market) and Cheonggyecheon area (Seoul Lantern Festival) will be lit up simultaneously, marking the opening of the '2024 Seoul Winter Festa'

"The Gwanghwamun area, the 'King's Road' restored after 100 years, is designed in an arena (amphitheater) style for everyone to enjoy. The charm of Seoul, connecting the past, present, and future, will be showcased through performances in various genres, including classical music and media art."

✅ Seoul Light Gwanghwamun & DDP

"Seoul Light Gwanghwamun' uses the entire Gwanghwamun area as a huge canvas to showcase large-scale media facades by media art artists from around the world. 'Seoul Light DDP,' Seoul's representative media art festival, will light up the winter night, creating a breathtaking spectacle."

"With the concept of an axis of light signifying light filling the world centered on Gwanghwamun, many overseas artists such as David Hartono (Italy) and David Wugono (France) have participated. This year, media art viewing seats have been created for a more convenient viewing experience."

"It operates from 6 PM to 10 PM on weekdays and weekends, and until midnight during the year-end and Christmas holidays."

Seoul Light DDP

"The theme is '5 Cheers!: Relay of Hopeful Support,' conveying a message of support and hope to everyone who is ending one year and welcoming the new year. Five works, including works by the world-renowned French artist 'Jean-Julien,' 'Kim Sun-woo,' 'Jo Gu-man,' 'JE BAAK,' and 'Life Recording,' are combined in an omnibus format."

"Screenings are held every 30 minutes from 7 PM to 9:30 PM."

"The Christmas Gwanghwamun Market will be operated with a Santa Village concept, centered around a 14m high large Christmas tree with the participation of 141 small and medium-sized business owners. In addition, a special exhibition of 'Squid Game' season 2 will be held at Gwanghwamun Plaza during the festival, and a large-scale parade will take place on December 21st from Seoul Plaza to Gwanghwamun (1km section)."

"Seoul's representative downtown light festival, 'Seoul Lantern Festival,' will be held spectacularly in Cheonggyecheon this year with the theme of Soul Lantern, presenting exhibitions encompassing modern and traditional play. Experience over 240 exhibits, from traditional light sculptures to world landmarks, as well as a large Christmas tree, a symbol of winter festivals."

"The Seoul Plaza Ice Rink will be operated under the theme of 'Seoul, the Approaching Winter.' It will be decorated with a theme reminiscent of the old atmosphere of enjoying ice sledding and spinning tops on the Han River, and can be enjoyed for just 1,000 won."

"It is divided into general skating and children's skating, and will be extended until 1 AM on Christmas and New Year's Eve."

✅ Bosingak Bell-ringing Ceremony

"The highlight of the Seoul Winter Festa, the countdown and the Bosingak bell-ringing ceremony, will be held at Bosingak from 11:35 PM on December 31st. Various celebratory performances, from K-music emphasizing Korea's traditional beauty to global artists, will be held before and after the countdown. With the bell-ringing, a 30m diameter midnight sun will rise at Bosingak."

"It will be held in conjunction with 'Seoul Con,' an exhibition led by global influencers.
