Convenience Store Umbrella Price Comparison in Korea (Emart24, GS25, Seven Eleven)

Today, May 1st, is Labor Day in Korea, so I had the day off. I was taking a walk, and it started to rain. Feeling a little lonely in the rain, I decided to compare the prices of umbrellas at convenience stores in Korea. It seems like sudden rain showers have become more frequent lately, and if you aren't prepared, it can be quite inconvenient.

I already have a lot of umbrellas at home, so buying another one feels wasteful. But I can't avoid buying one, so I imagine many people are looking for the cheapest umbrella they can find.

It's a shame to have to buy another umbrella in Korea, but for those who find themselves in that situation, I decided to visit three different convenience stores to check the prices myself.

1. Emart24 Convenience Store

First, let's look at the umbrella prices at Emart24.

Convenience store umbrellas can be broadly categorized into three types: transparent plastic umbrellas, long umbrellas, and folding umbrellas.

The transparent plastic umbrellas cost around 6,000 won. The size is 55cm.

The long umbrellas cost 8,000 won and are 70cm in size.

Finally, the folding umbrella. It costs 18,000 won. I was surprised it was so expensive.

I didn't see this at other convenience stores, but Emart24 also sells rain ponchos, so that's something to keep in mind.

2. GS25 Convenience Store

Next, let's look at the umbrella prices at GS25.

Similarly, they are mainly divided into three types. The transparent plastic umbrellas cost 7,000 won.

The black long umbrella also costs 7,000 won.

Finally, the folding umbrella. While the transparent and long umbrellas are more expensive than at Emart24, the folding umbrella is much cheaper at 14,000 won.

If you're thinking of buying a folding umbrella, GS25 might be a good option.

3. Seven Eleven Convenience Store

Finally, let's check the umbrella prices at Seven Eleven.

I confirmed that the transparent plastic and long umbrellas are 7,000 won, and the folding umbrella is 15,000 won.

Comparing all three stores, the prices are quite similar. If you don't need a folding umbrella and just need something quickly, it doesn't really matter which store you go to.

I compared the umbrella prices at Emart24, GS25, and Seven Eleven convenience stores.

Since these are competing companies, the prices are quite similar. Personally, it feels like a long time since I last bought an umbrella at a convenience store, and the prices seem to have gone up a lot.

Many people are coming to Korea in May. To avoid unnecessary expenses, check the weather forecast in advance. If it's a season with a lot of rain, carrying a foldable mini umbrella is a good idea.
