It's not a generalization. It's just that those around me, including myself, are similar.

First, I determine the schedule, accommodation, and whether or not to rent a car. This is the most important part. Once I have a general flow, I start thinking about the specifics, like what to eat and where to shop on certain days.

This part would be common for both men and women, right?

Now, this is where the real travel preparation begins.

Taking my husband as an example,

for a 3-night trip, his preparations would be limited to exchanging currency, a charger, underwear, socks, and one or two changes of clothes.

He's cautious about just buying anything needed at the destination, so he focuses on his card and the amount of currency exchanged.

He pays attention to that.

I, on the other hand, add to that list,

checking the state of my nails and toenails.

If I haven't gotten a pedicure in a while, my toenails grow out,

and even wearing sneakers hurts my toes.

My hands... I think I can get them done after the trip in two weeks,

but my feet need a fresh pedicure next week.

If the destination is a resort and involves water sports,

waxing gets added to the list.

Before traveling during the peak summer season (late July and early August),

I got a perm.

Since my hair is long and I would be frequently going in and out of hot springs,

I thought wavy hair would look less shabby than long straight hair.

So, I was able to style it easily and effortlessly, even without a curling iron.

Once the nail salon and hair salon are done,

I start deciding what to wear where.

I'll wear comfortable clothes in the mountains,

and I can dress up a bit in the city.

I probably won't be able to get away with just one pair of shoes,

I guess I'll have to buy a pair there. Then, what kind of suitcase should I use?

What's a good lightweight crossbody bag?

These deep thoughts keep me up at night,

and to make sure I have the selected clothes, I need to finish washing them a few days in advance

and dry them before packing them into my suitcase for peace of mind.

So, about a week before departure, I unpack my suitcase in my room.

If I take out some clothes from the closet and they don't look right,

I need to buy them beforehand.

I also think about which cosmetics I'll bring.

What about cleansers? I have to think about these things too.

Once I have a general idea of grooming, outfits, and what to bring,

I browse the duty-free shops.

It's not every time, but this time I had some cosmetics running low,

and my usual skincare products happened to be in stock,

so I placed an order.

I'll have to carry them around. Haha.

But it's okay because I'll be staying at the same accommodation for two days after one day of carrying them around.

After finishing with online duty-free shopping,

I organize a list of things to buy at the destination.

Right now, my list includes feminine hygiene products and colored contact lenses.

I'll probably buy some appealing snacks as well.

Checking my schedule for Mother Nature's cycle, there are no issues.

My luggage will be lighter, and I'm expecting to be in good condition. 🤗

And, since I tend to get a little careless sometimes,

I purchased a phone strap with a neck lanyard.

My husband insisted on it, even though he isn't coming this time...

It's a bit embarrassing, but I have to wear it properly.

Roaming services offer 24-hour support, I've heard.

I'm planning to get family roaming the day before.

On the morning of departure, I'll just put on makeup,

and pack only the pouch containing the makeup I used that day. It should be fine, but

I'm sure I'll forget something. 🥲 I bet a few more things will come to mind.

When my child was little, I felt like I was moving house with all the preparations,

but now I'm exhausted, so the process has become much simpler.

Even with all this preparation, I end up buying things at the destination.

And the most important preparation is

I need to make sure I'm in good shape to eat a lot when I get there.

The holidays are over,

so I'm starting a fast tomorrow. 😭

I'll only eat tomatoes and coffee...
